VALPARAISO, IN, August 03, 2023 — Mark S. Rudd, MBA, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Rudd is a nuclear engineer who serves as the president of Rudd Asset Management (RAM) LLC in Valparaiso, Indiana. Launching his company in 2008, his consulting business specializes in electrical power projects consulting and developing renewable energy combined heat and power plants.

A leader in the industry for more than 50 years, Mr. Rudd leverages his former expertise as a construction, start up, and nuclear engineer at the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, Michigan from 1972 to 1975 and nuclear industry transportation with Transnucleaire SA in Paris from 1975 to 1977, through which he served as the Director of European field services for a fleet of irradiated nuclear fuel shipping casks, among other responsibilities. He subsequently joined the Northern Indiana Public Service Company in Chesterton and Wheatfield, Indiana, and spent the next 30 years involved in nuclear engineering, power plant engineering, project engineering, plant operations and maintenance management, Rates and Regulatory Services, and corporate strategic development. Duties ranged from the Reactor Engineer for the Bailly Nuclear Power Plant to fossil plant engineering and ultimately serving as Plant Manager of the R. M. Schahfer Generation Station, a six unit coal and natural gas power generation plant.

Heavily engaged in his community with the Special Olympics in Indiana, Mr. Rudd was a volunteer high school basketball coach from 2002 to 2008. He worked closely with Special Olympics Indiana, establishing high school basketball teams of special and regular education kids that won 15 state tournaments.

Mr. Rudd earned a Bachelor of Engineering in nuclear engineering from Purdue University in 1972 as part of the inaugural undergraduate nuclear engineering program on campus. He later received a business law certificate and later earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago in 1999. Mr. Rudd remains aware of developments in his field as a Senior Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Association of Energy Engineers where he has been honored with the “Legends in Energy” award status.

In light of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Rudd earned an Innovators Award from the Electric Power Research Institute for innovative power systems design.

Using his experience in the field and a strong diverse background in business, Mr. Rudd focuses on creating designs and proforma project analyses that optimize performance using integrated designs and Monte Carlo simulation to optimize projects to maximize performance and profits.

Mr. Rudd attributes much of his success in the industry to his passion for learning and a desire to improve the United States energy system.
